Prepare the photo and explain the conditions
If image input is available in your ChatGPT session, attach a portrait taken in indirect daylight. Explain any makeup, dyed hair or colored lighting. OpenAI recommends explaining what the model should inspect rather than relying on an image alone. Do not upload a photo of someone else without their permission.
A color analysis prompt to adapt
Use this starting prompt: “Help me explore a personal clothing palette from this photo. Describe only visible color relationships. Discuss temperature, depth, softness and contrast, and state where lighting makes the result uncertain. Suggest two palette directions to compare using clothes I own. Do not assign a definitive season or recommend changing my features. Give me a small set of neutrals and accents, with a reason for each.” Add your wardrobe needs and preferences in your own words.
Check the answer outside the chat
A fluent answer is not proof of an accurate season. Compare the proposed colors near your face under consistent light and note which combinations you actually enjoy. Ask the model to explain uncertainty rather than produce a confidence percentage.
