What Is My Color Palette? Build a Wearable Set of Colors

Find your color palette for clothing with a small set of neutrals, everyday colors and accents. Turn a seasonal direction into outfits you can repeat.

Start with the clothes you actually wear

A personal color palette is a small collection of colors that work together and feel useful on you. Lay out five frequently worn pieces and note which colors already repeat. A seasonal label can guide temperature and intensity, but your work, climate and preferences decide which shades deserve space in your wardrobe.

Choose two neutrals and three useful accents

Try navy and a soft white as a cool-leaning base, or chocolate and cream as a warm-leaning alternative. Add three colors you enjoy near your face. These are starting combinations, not universal prescriptions. Check that each new top works with two bottoms you own before adding another color.

Test your palette in a real outfit

Use one neutral for the largest area, another for a layer, and an accent in a scarf or top. For a softer look, keep the light-dark difference small. For a stronger look, increase it deliberately. A screen swatch cannot reproduce fabric, so check clothes in daylight and the indoor light where you will wear them. Keep favorite off-palette colors as small accents if you like.
